Upgrade my rear drums with 1998 to 02 Camaro brake parts???

Ello everyone, my 1980 Trans Am came with rear drums on it. I would like to upgrade to rear disk on a budget.
I saw on a TV show that you can upgrade a 2nd generation firebird using 1998 to 02 Camaro parts.  (back plate, calipers, rear brake pads and 1/8 spacer)
Are there any other vehicle options when it comes to rear brake conversations?
Or would it be about the same price just to buy a firebird upgrade kit?

I put the 98 brakes on my 79. Used a 81 4 wheel disk master cylinder and proportioning valve (I wanted the plastic reservoir as an update with my LS engine). The brakes feel like a modern car. They work great with the 17" wheels.  Not sure they fit factory though.

I'm rounding up parts to do the same this spring.  Took months to find an 81 master cylinder but Summit finally got me one 2 weeks ago.  I've had the rotors, calipers, backing plates and other hard parts sitting in the attic for 10 years! lol
