New IRS for 70-81 F-bodies
« on: March 30, 2021, 04:37:50 PM »
Some pictures of the new Independent Rear Suspension for the Trans Am.
Fully bolt in, no welding.
Fabricated Ford 9" housing
DOM tubular control arms
33 spline CV shafts
Bilstein shocks
Up to 2 degrees negative camber
Easy toe adjustment
Adjustable sway bar
Fits 335 width tires with the mini-tub kit
Wilwood brakes

I'm working on the 3" exhaust that will exit through the rear with factory style splitters.

Those both look pretty awsome. I would like to drive that car to see how it feels. Is this a product you are making for yourself, having it made, or planning on marketing?  I would think there def would be a call for something like this. I am with Charlie though, it looks like it would be beyond my budget, but great for someone building something for autocross.

Looking forward to seeing the exhaust routing and pricing on packages. Might be too rich for me but I’d like to know

Easy part of the exhaust is done.  I'm using the original type splitters for the exit.  Should be finished this weekend.  The subframe connectors are the lowest part on the car.  I'm planning to be at Firebird Fest in St Louis in May.

Exhaust is routed.  Full 3" stainless steel.  Just over 4" of ground clearance.  The subframe connectors are the lowest point on the car.  I'm extremely happy with the sound.

Well, is there anything new to add to this post?

Was it completed?

Thoughts on it's new handling?

Just curious!!

I don’t know how I missed this. Very impressive and expensive looking suspension and subframe setup. I too would like to hear driving improvements?
