Philips LED Sealed Beam Headlights

Thought I would pass along this product reference if anyone is looking for a sealed beam LED headlight from a legitimate brand.  I've seen so many knock-off H4 and LED upgrade headlights over the years but I didn't know Philips got into the LED headlight game.  A bit pricey but I splurged and ordered for my Trans Am since I need to replace mine anyways.  We'll see how they work.

Thanks for the links, those look nice.  They have more of a clean, stock like appearance.

The ones I’ve seen with the best review aside from the Philips is JW Speaker.  They look nice but are NOT CHEAP!  Pretty cool that you can get heated headlights and even ones with built-in turn signals these days.

I can't speak for the Phillips LED bulbs.  But, FWIW...
 I've used a couple of sets of LED headlights from HeadlightExperts.com.

They are not sealed beam, but they do come with a very stock-looking glass housing. I could recommend these for someone wanting to retain stock appearing 'bulbs'.   These fit good, are nice and white without much blue, and are very much brighter than the brightest Halogen bulbs I've tried (And I went through a few Halogen sets before finally installing LED's. 

I recently bought a 2017 Challenger.  In the daylight I thought the car had HID's because sometime around them they started using Halogen bulbs behind the HID style 'lense' housings.   Even those relatively modern Halogen bulbs were terrible.  Maybe my eyes are aging poorly, but IMHO I think Halogen bulbs are not safe these days.  Modern headlights are so bright most oncoming vehicles just drown out the light coming from the Halogens.   

It's a pricey upgrade, but I didn't feel safe driving at night without HID's or LED's.   Being comfortable behind the wheel was worth every penny.

I don't like the look of fancy lights that are not in use, simple as that. By all means use them on your car. It's not about you, whoever you are.

The 3 in first post aren't too bad, what's the black strip on each? And does it need to be black?

Please post a comparison of your new LEDs maybe one side with the  with the old headlights and one side with the new LED headlights

I have been using the other LED bulbs made by Philips from Rock Auto on my 1976 Firebird. I have installed the 194 dash lights and started with some of the other light bulbs, markers and license plate. The headlights were a little pricy right now. A little at a time.

It took me 6 months of going back and forth before I pulled the trigger on these due to the price. I only bought the low beams so far, and that may remain the case because I think my high beam halogens do a fine job of filling their holes and never being turned on without costing 2 bills to do so. I completely agree with Wallington on the looks department. But, if someone does drive their car a lot (unfortunately I dont) I can see them being a useful upgrade.

X2, be great if they will play nicely(plug and play) with old stock wiring harness and switches with out requiring any relay installation. I’ll throw out my half installed HID stuff, and go back to stock original wiring. Expensive yes, but not like the HID conversions are cheap or simple.

Hey Larry,

Me and my wife have been doing a decent amount of overtime between both of our jobs this past month….and switching off watching our 1 year old in between.  Haven’t been able to wrench on the car but it’s all been for good/better reasons.  I also purchased a 90’s Chevy truck a couple months ago and it’s turning into a bigger project than I initially anticipated.  The truck is more priority at this point but I will get back to posting about the car as soon as I can.
