Special edition?
« on: October 15, 2021, 04:26:51 PM »
Hey Guys, I'm looking at buying a 1980 SE and was looking at the cowl tag. I was wondering how to tell if its a S/E from the cowl? here is what the cowl says
00 06A 2FS87L161346
64B   19L 19U         W
A51 CC1 134022930

He's claiming its a S/E in the ad but i want to make sure before i make the purchase. I cant see the gold in the steering wheel it the gauge cluster or gold on the outside.

It's possible, but nothing on the build plate from a Van Nuys build car will tell you that. It tells you some basics such as the black paint and T-tops. They certainly match what you want to see, but are also there on a regular black TA. You'll need to see the buildsheet, if he even has it, or original papers. You can add gold trim pieces, new or faded, to anything so that's nothing to go by.

A Camaro looks like it could kick your ass.
A Trans Am looks like it's coming over to do it
