8 track tape player

hello all, I am looking to purchase a center console from Ames for my 77 TA and I noticed that it says that the console will not allow the mounting of the 8 track tape player. anyone run in to this or is there a work around to mount the player........thanks

1981 console used that space for the computer, I'm assuming they are giving you one of those.

For the 8 track, there was a 2nd bracket in there.  It looks pretty much like the bracket they all have, which catches the bottom of the dash and the map pocket.  They had to add that 2nd bracket at the factory.  In my opinion, if you were prepared to add it, then you could mount the 8 track player.

thanks for your reply, i have all the original mounting brackets and the old console. i am going to order it and will post so others can know if it can be done
