One day I was messing with ideas to put on a vanity plate for the 73.

Had ideas like

NASTY 73
NAS T 73

Never did get a special plate for the car but when it came time to join forums like this one, I figured why not try one of the ideas.

Since I’m Canadian it’s not a T/A it’s s a T/EH.

I use to share my name and family details in my profile, but a bunch of people in my company have lost their jobs from a post or video they made in social media. So all you get from me anymore is I live in Alberta Canada.

I thought maybe because you had a nasty Camaro/z28...

Funny stuff, Jack. On an FB site? Besides, I tried that on another Pontiac forum many years ago, and got laughed right outta there. I can take a hint.

The sneakers are for the drive home.  They would be lucky to last a whole day up on those rocky slopes.  But after 9 days of trudging along at 10'300 feet in those heavy, insulated boots- it feels great to put on sneakers for the long 25-hour drive home!

Based on a character I fabricated for a franchise I was a fan of in my early teen years who had the ability to control nuclear energy, and "envoy" was the name of a custom skin I used on my WinAmp media player (I know it's an actual word, too lol).

The two words just sounded cool, so I combined them for a username when I made a DeviantArt account back in like 2004. As for the lowercase and capital letters; back in the 2000's, "hAxXOr-speak" was a big thing, where whatever you typed out, you mix up the uppercase and lowercase letters or replace entire letters with other characters that resemble the letters. I.E. nUc134r 3nV0Y

It's stuck ever since. It's actually pretty easy to find any forum I'm subscribed to since I've used this same username for everything, lmao.

We had a bet at work in the late 90s that I can come up with an email address that was not taken on the first try, and the address had to make sense.  I won the bet.  At the time I had an 82 5.0 along with my T/A, so that constitutes the TWOV8S part.  I also had a 1990 Eagle Talon AWD turbo and that constitutes the AND A T4.  So Twov8sandat4.

Only a car nut like me thinks that's logical  :P

Pontiac -> named after the great Chief Pontiac.  Poncho -> nickname for a Pontiac car.  Chief Poncho -> Me oldest guy on an early car forum back in the late 90's owning a pontiac.

I kept the name on many forums ever since.  May have even used it on some message boards even before then.   Amazing how many people don't make the connection.  But I guess if you're not into Pontiacs it may not make sense.

Well, I really liked playing club penguin. My first username was Maxtherebelpilot222 since I liked two things at the time, star wars and thunderbirds. Guess which thunderbird was my favourite. They shorted the names, and Maxthepilot didn't fit and Maxtherebel didn't either, it ended up with Maxthe222, and then it became my Xbox gamer tag, and once it's your Xbox GT that's the end of it!

I was living and working in Serbia when I joined TAC around 2003.  I also struggled to come up with a user name.  So..."pozar" (pronounced "pozhar") means fire in Serbian.  Mixing languages to get "Fire Car."  Best I could come up with.

First name is Jackson, middle name is Dewain, and some people call me JD. I've mostly been a Mopar guy my whole life, but have had a few Trans Ams along the way. I use JDMopar on both Moparts and For A Bodies Only, and I'm just too old and lazy to try and come up with and remember another one for here! I've been on here for several years, but don't post much. I logged on today, and saw we must have had a revamp, and it looks like we lost a lot of content from the old version of the board. Thought I'd better 'splain it again!

Ok I will play,  I live in Georgia and of course I have the Trans Am (Bird). The 33 is because my favorite race car driver growing up was Harry Gant, who drove the #33 Skoal Bandit.

I actually own a 78 Trans Am.

I bought a '70 Esprit and installed TA body parts on it when I was repainting it. I like red cars and it was red from the factory, so I painted it GM Bright Red which is different than the factory red.  Pontiac purists would come out of no where at gas stations and what not telling me I'd ruined an early TA that should be painted blue or white. So I'd explain the Esprit story. After a while I decided to just get a vanity plate I could point to. At the time I couldn't get any spaces on the plate so NOTATA was the best I could get.  Didn't occur to me how many non car folks would read it as NO TA TA ahahaha. Years later when I moved to FL I just got a normal plate.

When the internet became a thing I used NOTATA initially, then eventually forums and other online sites started allowing screen names that were more than one word so I switched ones I could to NOT A TA and also used it for any new ones. I'm still NOTATA on some sites I joined long ago, photobucket comes to mind.

It wasn't so much bad mouthing the color choice as they were disappointed I hadn't painted it a "correct" color thinking it was a real TA. Once I explained then they were usually complimentary about the exterior changes and body/paint work. By the time I moved to FL the car had been in PHR with cover & feature, Hot Rod, and showed up on most of the Pontiac forums so I didn't get negative comments anymore. That's why I just got a normal FL plate. Now since I'm NOT A TA on all the forums I frequent, anyone new who sees a pic I post probably assumes my car didn't start as a TA from the factory because of the screen name.

Yea, Mike.....I have quite a bit of Harry Gant collectibles from the 80's and 90's.....Somewhere I have a really cool photo of Harry driving a Black Trans Am with Burt Reynolds and Hal Needham in the car with him. It was taken at Harry 's final race in 1994.
