Title: Garage flooring
Post by: stros on January 20, 2022, 04:05:40 PM
Hey guys - I think there were threads out there back in the day on this subject.  Has anyone installed garage flooring that they're very happy with?  I'm looking for something that I can still jack the car up on, handle any fluid leaks, but also be padded enough to support a home gym setup.

Thanks

Concrete!

I have a small area of the plastic tile under my motocycle. I did a renovation job and they were throwing away a pile of them so me being the pack rat, saved them. Just enough to go under my trans am. I was obsessed with my garage at one time wanting to put something fancy on the floor. After all I have bead board wainscoting and crown moulding in there  Then I got sidetracked and forgot about it. Too many other priorities right now. My brother in law did his own paint your garage floor thing from Home depot and it looks nice and has held up well after a few years.

Nice - how well do the tiles stay in place when driving over them or turning your wheels on them?  I was thinking to go with a roll based flooring to keep it planted.

Not bad, I have a side entry garage so I am always turning in and out but I have pooped a couple up if I turn late and real sharp. Not a big deal.

What I like the best is the bit of cushion and insulation they provide. In the cold MI winter, they are great to stand on a long time, or kneel or every lay on.
