Post by: banone1977 on October 13, 2021, 12:08:44 PM
Looking for recommendations on cloth car covers for indoor storage for the winter months.  Thanks, Dan

California Car Covers. From what I have found they are about average in price among other suppliers. I have a middle of the line one for my 77 and love it. Will buy another for my 79.

I bought this one - https://www.carcovers.com/covers/cars/pontiac/firebird-trans-am/1973/black-satin-shield.html (https://www.carcovers.com/covers/cars/pontiac/firebird-trans-am/1973/black-satin-shield.html)

I had bought one like this, although different brand, for another car last year and really liked it so went with the same stretch fit style. Only difference is the Firebird one doesn't have mirror pockets like my other cover, but that's not critical.

Thanks to all for the input.  I was looking at the California Covers.  I think I would like one with mirror pockets this time.

I thought I had a better pic of my cover. The price included a few letters of free embroidery at the nose. Its very soft and stretchy. Fits the car very nicely.

And for a comparison, this is a cotton cover I bought in 1982 for my then brand new firebird. I got this from Beverly Hills Motoring Acc. (they are out of business). Though its for a 3rd gen it mostly fits a 2nd gen and I am using it whilst the car is still under construction. I will get a Cal Car cover when the car is finished.

I got mine from Cover King since I was able to pick the colors and design.

That looks nice Steve. Almost looks like the same material as the one I have from Cali.

I have a Cover King for my 11 Camaro, I'll look into it too.

CoverCraft Dustop is the ultimate indoor car cover. You wash your car, shine it up, put a Dustop over it and you can pull that thing off 3 years later and it'll still look exactly the same underneath like the day you washed it. Used one on my 2011 Camaro.
