St.Michaels Concours-Kent Island MD
« on: October 01, 2024, 05:59:19 AM »
Went to this car show on Sunday. Weather was crappy but all in all pretty nice show. Limited to a select number of vehicles as is typical of most Concours type events. Lots of very nice pre war stuff. Located right on the Ches bay.

I’m envious, I’ve never been to anything like a Concurs event. Sorry the weather was less than perfect. I do think cloudy skies give better lighting for pictures. You got some incredible photos of some high end cars! Hopefully weather will be nicer for Hershey and your car does well.

I will admit, I have been to many Concours events and have never paid for a ticket   Honestly, not sure that I would. Most are rather expensive. This one was $60 for G.A. and that is pretty cheap compared to a lot of them. The owner of the Duesenberg is a good friend and relative of my wifes boss and he gave me the tickets. One year he gave me VIP tickets and that was really fun! All of the other events I have been to were showing my motorcycles so you get free entrance tickets and typically a nice goody bag, lunch, cocktail and the whole nine yards. Its great showing a vehicle in a concours  :grin

I really enjoy a Concours. From a historical perspective, you will see a bit of everything. And usually some things you've never seen before. Fortunately for me, there are a couple of highly ranked Concours in my area. I've even been lucky enough to participate in a few, as well.

This was on 9/15/24, at the Dayton Concours d'Elegance.

I wasn't expecting the heft of it. I nearly dropped it when they handed it to me. I weighed it when I got home... 13 pounds!
