Tire Inflator

I saw a beautiful '68 Lemans at Lowes yesterday. Talking with the owner. Then he opens his trunk and pulls out this gadget. It was a Pontiac accessory, stored in a cardboard container about the size of the inflator bottle. There was a special bracket and connector on the intake that it plugged into. The hose attached was long enough to reach all four tires. With the engine running the vacuum started the air pump. He said it worked but took a little bit to inflate a tire. First time I have ever seen something like this.

That's cool, even as a retro accessory that probably didn't work as well as they advertised! New to me too.

That's gotta be super rare. It looks new!
Always thought vacuum powered air compressors seemed so convoluted and strange. My dad put one on a motorhome 50 years ago for air horns.

Wow, never seen that before. Have used a.c. compressor as a pump to inflate tires back in the day on jeeps. That from the factory is cool
