'79 Horn plunger(s)

Hi all,

I call it a plunger, but not sure about the correct name.

There are two(?) plungers on the steering column. There is the one visible when you pop of the horn "cover", and then, once you remove the steering wheel and related stuff there is another copper fitting with a spring inside, connected to a wire. THIS is the one I'm looking for.
Can anyone point me in a direction and some measurements for the part? I need to make a new one, but don't have an old one for reference.

Behind the cancelling cam there is a spring loaded copper tube thingy

Urg, my picture posting skills have left me.

So, on the attachment, on the 9th photo, where you see the turn signal screws and the lever screws, there is a "silver" button just right of the shaft (at about 14h00).
That is missing and I'm looking to make or buy one.

That little plunger sits on top of a spring.  This is my 1978 switch.

Parts stores have them for about $45.00 for the whole switch.  Probably cheaper elsewhere.

That's the one.
If I can get the outside measurements, then I will be able to make one. The spring hole is not important as that is made to fit.

I literally just sold a column I could’ve checked for you. If nobody else can help you I’ll pull my column apart and try to get some measurements but fair warning I don’t have a lot of free time so it could take me a while

Ok, so I got into the column tonight. I didn’t pull the turn signal switch out to see if that copper piece comes out the back but it doesn’t come out the front so the measurements I got for you were:

.236” diameter

It sticks out .4”

And I don’t know its total depth however I pushed it in as far as it would go and it goes about .045” in the hole. I have a few pics I could send if you need them.

There is a tab on each side of the plunger.  They can be bent straight and then the bottom will come out and you can retrieve the spring and plunger that way.  The bottom is connected to a single wire, possibly black, so it won't fall to the floor.

You'll also need to flair out the bottom of the plunger to keep it from slipping out the top.
