PTFB rear sway bar install question
« on: July 26, 2024, 05:25:46 PM »
I was looking at my rear sway bar bolts where they mount to the spring plate and was wondering if you guys think this looks right?  The bolts look the same way on both sides at least.

Thanks - looks like my bolts aren’t tightened all the way in.

I just noticed that my clamp is upside down. LOL  It's been like that since the mid 80's.  I will have to look at why I did it that way.  Clearance since it's lowered mayby?!

Also, your sleeve looks way to long.

Thanks - I emailed Dave at PTFB last night and he responded this am stating that my bolts are installed backwards.  The head of the Allen bolt is supposed to be on the end of the steel sleeve.  The washer and nut are supposed to be on the inside of the clamp.  Still not sure if the sleeve size is wrong but that’s what came with the bar.  Dave didn’t mention concerns with the sleeve.

All better now😀.  Thanks to Dave at PTFB -he was very responsive via email / phone.  He said that the sleeve is correct and the Allen bolt allows it to slide properly.  Haven’t had a chance to test it out if it makes a big difference.
