Exhaust hangers
« on: April 15, 2024, 02:28:20 PM »
Just finished restoration of rear exhaust hangers, now something is bothering me. The mounting surface on the car is flat, but the hangers are not. They have a stomach, both the same. They won't sit flush. Except the rust, they weren't damaged. Is there anything that goes between the body and the hanger ?

It's just the way they have been pressed. Are these originals powdercoated? You could always as a thin sheet of rubber the same size that compresses, and acts like another dampener as well. Or thin washers, depends if it rocks badly.

Just for the hell of it, some pics of NOS and repro brackets. I could have added these and more to the NOS vs Repro thread but it dwindled away and died.
