Tesla makes an suv, I think it may their flagship top of the line car. You would think they could convert those to their service fleet. Just very telling of the industry in general.
Actually electric vehicles were quite popular in the early motoring days, and they made large delivery trucks. Their range was very limited and the speeds were quite slow, the cars were marketed towards woman because of their ease of use, no noise and dirt, smoke etc. The delivery trucks were limited to inter city use only. I have seen period pictures of entire fleets of electric trucks. I have a friend whose family owned a brewery in NYC at the turn of the century with an electric fleet.
Tow trucks, thats a whole different animal.
