Pertronix distributor
« on: January 28, 2023, 07:58:44 AM »
Hello everyone,  I decided to go with a Pertronix D1100 distributor on my '79 with a 403 Olds.  I bought it on Amazon and when it arrived the box was spotted with chassis grease, looked opened and had poor packaging. I suspected it was a returned part. After inspecting the distributor, I found no traces of engine oil at the gear, shaft and o-ring. When I removed the cap for the install I noticed the module did not have any print stating Pertronix or Flamethrower. Just a generic number JK-M024A-001. Has anyone ever used one of these distributors? I am trying to figure out if someone returned it after swapping out parts.

Thank you TammyTA, I contacted Pertronix and after they viewed photos and I gave them part numbers we found the distributor was a counterfeit.  I sent the original back to Amazon and ordered a new one with them directly to avoid any issues. They had great customer service. Hopefully the replacement adds some great performance to an engine already going beyond my expectations.
