Looks great!

I guess if your exhaust parts showed up you wouldn't have had the time to work on this project!

Actually the opposite. Its this stuff that allows me to buy car parts, LOL.

Thanks Luke. I have actually met and hung out with Roy U. a couple of times. He is quite the character. He comes off kind of scattered, but he is actually a very intelligent person, fluent in French and I believe he may have been a college professor at one point.

I finally had a couple hours to knock out some little projects that were cluttering my workbench. Trying to get the space cleared so I can finally start in on my cherry and walnut bookcase.
The bookends are made from old-growth maple floorboards recovered from a demolished feed mill here in town; the gears are engine components I picked up at a local shop. The root crown is a piece of old-growth white pine that I got in trade for some petrified wood.
The curly cutting board is hard maple from a tree on my parents property that I helped my dad log. The small one with the handle is also hard maple, same property, different tree. The one with juice grooves is soft maple, that's from a log I found in the city dump.
The coasters aren't finished yet, they're spalted maple.

Nice job on all your projects, I especially like the bookends with the gear sets and the wood grain of the first cutting board. I am envious of people with woodworking skills, partially for the imagination to dream up a projects and also the details In finish carpentry. One of my brothers and brother in-laws have built a lot of high quality furniture. That’s not me, I’m limited to building shelves, putting up walls, drywall mudding, and taping. I’m probably more comfortable doing electrical conduit and plumbing over something that people get enjoyment out of looking at.

Great projects Raven. Cooking is a bit of a lesser hobby for me but one thing I have never made is a cutting board! There was a guy at my house trimming and removing trees. He said he takes the interesting stuff and makes cutting boards. Had a small craft store in town where he sold them. Got me to thinking............................ Ah but I have enough stuff going on, LOL.

I like the gears on the bookends as well. I have a set of used SD pistons I wanted to make some kind of decoration but my imagination is not that great.
