Fender brace/support
« on: December 11, 2022, 07:32:49 PM »
I’m in the final assembly phase of my 74 TA and will be installing a 73 Endura nose on it.
The issue is the fender bracing length. My existing (74) is about 28-28.5 in length but is not long enough to support the top bushing /donut of the nose and would only be attached to the core support which is to thin to support the weight of the front bumper.
I need the length of a 73 brace, does anyone know where I can find one? Most suppliers advertise repos for 73-76 but they are 28/28.5 in length and I need the ones that are longer.
Any recommendations would be appreciated. If I can’t find a pair, I’ll probably have a section welded on.

I think 73 was the first year they were used (both of my 71 and 72 do not have them), you don't need them but I know a guy on here was making and selling them. If you really want them I would make one from scratch, welding a section on will look strange.

I decided to add/weld a piece on…. Ground the welds down, almost invisible.

Looks neat. Find a blackened washer and nut to suit the rest, probably just an install trial for pic.
