Great Day For A Ride
« on: November 27, 2022, 10:10:48 AM »
I finally got around to washing my car, and was able to take a short drive. I havent had any seat time since the first of October. My son has been enjoying the driving duties though as he has been taking it out every weekend. Stopped by our local covered bridge for a shot. There are quite a few in the next county over into PA that I want to make a day out of and visit as many as possible.

Beautiful ride. I hope your son isn't committing too much debauchery with it every weekend, haha. Car like that will get any young kid in trouble.

Nah, He just turned 31 last week. His days of nonsense are behind him for now, LOL. He had little interest in it until one day last summer I asked if he wanted to drive it. Once he did that he fell in love with it.

Yes I am glad he has come around to 'the dark side'
It makes the need to get the 79 finished even greater, maybe then I will have a car to drive

I was hesitant to drive just because after I finished the resto. I did not want to 'undo' 5 years of work. After putting limited miles on the first couple of years I realized I am not getting any younger, I do not plan on selling the car so caution to the wind and I started driving it as much as I can. I wish I had a job that I could use it at least once a week. I dont run the &^&%& out of it, but I do enjoy it. Its a machine and it needs to run to be healthy. I found last season that I had more fun going to shows than actually sitting at them. I am a member of the AACA and knew that it was not 'perfect' enough for their show field so I started in the DPC (driver participation class). I plan on more driver participation this coming year  I see a lot of cars there that are so perfect that only leave the garage on a trailer. I dont get it. I know some people prefer that and Im not knocking it, just not for me.
I saw a beautifully restored 75 TA a few weeks ago. Guy wont drive it because its too nice and he prefers that. And he went on to tell me how great the motor runs!!!

Hey, that photo wouldn't happen to be Vermont, would it? Looks like a New England setting.

North eastern (actually outside of the town of North East) MD. Bridge was restored about 20 years ago by a crew from Vermont though

We only have one that is accessible. We have 2 others that are within the confines of state owned land. Next door there are dozens in Lancaster Co. PA.

Are you saying that you can't load up your tools and take your TA to a job site?
