Seat Belt Bolts

Okay guys, putting my car back together after many years including a roof swap. Don’t know what year the new roof is but its got the 75(?) up retractable belts. Bought some Morris Classic belts but have no idea what size bolts go into the roof for the retractor. Tried metric, standard… went through my bucket of bolts. the metric seems to thread in maybe an extra turn or two but they all get bound up. The nut that’s welded to the roof panel - is it some kind. Of lock nut?

M8 - 1.25 (coarse thread) x 20mm long in later roof mounts, maybe it's had a few different threads put through them and need cleaning up.

Worked some in with a little oil. Think it was just a bit of rust holding everything up. Slightly surprised they went to metric here. If they weren’t m8 x1.25 they are now! 😁

Beat me to it, I dragged a set out to measure and take pics. I replated mine but would likely to have been light blue to identify a Metric part.

Actually, a very quick search shows them as blackened or possibly plated silver zinc. Either way.

If the roof is a 75/76 model year the bolts should be 5/16-18x7/8. I have a 75 TA and haven’t found a metric bolt yet.
