Seat covers
« on: November 01, 2021, 01:01:44 PM »
For those that have or have had both is there a significant difference in the look or feel of the deluxe vinyl seats compared to the leather of the 10th seats?

Good question.  I am on the fence with seats for my tenth.  On one hand I have put the best I could find in everything else, so I dont want to waver on the seats. On the other hand, the one thing I never liked about the tenth t/a is the ugly silver seats! The replacements are not cheap, and I am going to contact a local upholsterer to see about having covers made. If I do so I will most likely change the colour. I had thought about buying silver vinyl as well. I figure if I ever get to selling the car I will pony up for the correct covers but in the meantime put something in there that I like. I have been thinking something charcoal grey.
Something else to consider is the current lead time. I spoke to legendary about door panels and they told me at least 8 months. I cant imagine seat covers are any different. Let me know what you come up with.

I really need to recover my seats. The leather/vinyl mix of the 10th seats are expensive as you know.. Legendary....wow, PUI better but still costly. I am considering just ordering Silver vinyl seat covers for an 81 (which I assume would be the same) and having the bird embroidered on the back seat so I would be able to at least recover my seats in the lowest budget means possible.
Summit shows an estimated ship date of 2/4 from the supplier as of right now.

Which supplier?  I spoke directly to legendary and they told me they had a 6 - 8 month time frame for products.

I had the same thought about getting the generic silver. I didnt know how hard it would be to get the back seat embroidered though.

They are PUI covers... I'm good if they arrive in February, I'll have the interior all done in time for cruising next year then.

One issue with using the silver vinyl ‘81 seats, and having the bird embroidered into the rear seat, is that it won’t match the embroidery on the doors.
