Switchin’ em up!

Well, the recent post a member made about painting their rally’s lit a fire under me to swap my wheels out. My car came with rally’s when I bought it 11 years ago. 3 were gold and one grey. I repainted them back then but when I had bodywork and paint done I got some new tires for a set of 8” snowflakes I had just had polished. Those have been on the car ever since. I have a set of 7” snowflakes too but they’re gold and I don’t have tires for them.

I’ve wanted to switch back to the rally’s for a year or two now but the tires on them are a bit small. I decided to go for it anyway so today I got them out, cleaned them up and put them on. I actually really like they way they look. I may have to invest in some new tires next year for them now.

It’s the same car lol. The one picture makes it look WAYYY better than it did in person. Paint was a lost cause and it needed some bodywork. I’m not typically a huge fan of color changes but I just don’t care much for silver on 77/78s. Other years or other cars depending on the car I don’t mind. Had it been any other color than that, I would’ve repainted it the same color.

Here’s a little better picture of the condition of the paint. This is the day I bought the car actually in July or August of 2010. Even here, it looks better on “film” than it did in person.

I personally like the TA in black with the rally II wheels, but everyone has their own preference. My father in-law used to say that’s why Baskin Robins has 31 flavors.

Lol he has a good point! Even with the smaller tires I’m liking the look too. Not including you guys I’ve asked 4 other people close to me so far and the split is 50/50. I think a new set of tires for the Rally’s may be in my future next year. I might keep them on.
