Four Speed Carpet into an automatic car
« on: July 27, 2021, 07:25:35 PM »
Odd ball question but bear with me as there is a reason.

My son was just given a 79 camaro and it is black on black and really nice.  For some reason my parents put grey carpet in it years ago.

I'm wanting to get new carpet from my trans am with the mass loaded vinyl backing and my son would love to have my old black carpet.  Problem is my car has four speed carpet and his is an automatic.

Anyone every tried it before?  How much does the four speed hump show under the console?

The original and replacement carpets suit either transmission, it just depends how much was cut away from the sides as to if it will be seen. Hopefully, since most also featured consoles of the same dimensions, you'd expect it to still cover carpet around unused hole. An early model with no console, slightly harder to hide!
