See any old Pontiacs?
« on: July 21, 2021, 12:59:31 PM »
Copying post that Nexus started "Spotted any year Bird". Despite living in a major metro area, I am not seeing any Firebirds. So I am starting a thread called "Any old Pontiac".
Since this is a Firebird site I hope not to ruffle any feathers.

This is actually the garage of a former coworker of mine. We worked together for more than thirty years going back to the late 70's

The first car (not even a Pontiac) is a 66 Corvette, 427, four speed, factory knock off alloy wheels and factory side pipes. Original unrestored.

The second is a 70 GTO Convertible, four speed 400.

The last is a 65 GTO, 389 four barrel, four speed. Unrestored original.

Funny thing, we worked field service repairing large commercial computers, lots of driving involved. He drove a Toyota Corolla hatch back with a four speed. Used to rev it up to redline and side step the clutch, over and over again. These three classics, he drives like an old man.

That 65 GTO is the original muscle car that started it all... so it would qualify.
Now a days the only Pontiacs I see around my area are late 90s early 20s POS beat to hell and back cars.

Those cars are simply beautiful!  That Corvette with the 427 would be fun to drive!
