Posting Photos
« on: July 18, 2021, 03:54:49 PM »
So what's the deal?
I remember posting photos from Photo-bucket years ago, but on their site, (which they too have changed their format), they don't have the IMG codes available to copy.
And here at TAC, when dropping down to the "Additional Options", it shows the attachment process, but to enter or submit, the only option is press "ALT+S". I thought it to be different in the past. When I do the Alt., it won't load. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

No matter what photo host I’ve used, I always copy the picture’s BBc code and just paste it in my thread here.  That’s the only way I know.  Sorry I’m no help.

Another question, concerning photos. I've been a member over ten years, and was curious if my threads from the past have been eliminated with the new format? I was looking for a thread I had with my 73 T/A, (years ago) with lots of photos, and it seems to be erased. Is there a way for a member to access old threads? Thanks.

The latest crash did irreparable damage to the data.   I'm afraid it is gone forever from TAC.  However- I know something called Wayback machine was used years ago to retrieve some threads.  Again- I have no idea how Waybackmachine works- I just remember the name

Is there a thread that shows how to post a picture? I used to be able to post away but now I cant.

Had to test first to make sure I was right.

1- Click "additional options" right below the box you are typing in.
2. Under "ATTACH" click browse
3. Select your photo from your computer/phone
4. Click POST

Have been trying this method but it is not working I'm guessing because the file is to big.

I get this every time, no matter how small I resize the picture. Earlier this summer my avatar went to 10 times its size for no reason. I was able to correct it but now i cant post any pictures, Help!

So that worked but how do I insert pictures in the actual post instead of at the bottom?  So I can post multiple pics with descriptions like I see everyone else doing?

Thanks for helping the new guy!

I haven't been able to figure that out using the new upload system of the forum. A lot of times, if posting several pictures, we tell the story in between pics. The only way I can think to do that is the old way of posting pics and that is finding a host, uploading your pics, then using the URL link to the pic in the TAC post using the IMG tags.

You can still use the forum to upload pics and insert them in the text. It’s not as “clean” as using a separate hosting site but I did it with my original air thread. Someone posted how to do it. Basically upload your photo to the forum then touch/hold on a device or right click on a computer and copy the link. The paste the link using the img button you mentioned.

You still end up with the photos at the bottom but they’ll be in the text also.
