New Air Brushed Screaming Chicken - 78TA
« on: June 23, 2021, 10:21:47 AM »
Hi,

Just got my hood air brushed from a guy in Long Island who specializes in this type of work. I am pretty happy with it, the thinking was to keep it close looking to stock but juice it up a little. I thought others on the forum would like to see it.

They did a fantastic job. I normally don't care for the air brushed birds, but that one is really clean. Nicely done.

I used to do those back in my first life too. (before wife and kids)
Had templates I made tracing 'birds off showroom floors at the Pontiac dealership where my mother worked as a bookkeeper.
We used to spend Sunday mornings there when nobody was around.
I think I still have '76-'81 tracings in my basement somewhere.
Also used to do the Royal Knight emblem on El Camino's.
Fun days 45 years ago. Where does the time fly.
I think I have pictures in a scrapbook somewhere. I still have my airbrush as I stumbled across that about a year ago.
Pin striping cars also helped finance my way through college.
The good 'ole days!
I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not sure.
I feel like I am diagonally parked in a parallel universe.

Every time I hear air brushed I automatically think of an actual eagle that people use to paint on in the 80s. But I really love this one, where did you get the template?

Hi - not 100% sure where he got the template, I know he downloaded it and ported to Adobe Photoshop and created a Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) file. The SVG allowed him to blow up the image without distorting it so he could print on a plotter and then place on my hood for fit. It was all painted on, flames were custom then he cleared it. He did the initial cut and buff and I finished it off with my DA.
