1973 T/A Grill
« on: May 05, 2021, 02:38:48 PM »
Anyone know what type of sheen was used on the blacked out T/A grills for 73?
I repainted mine using a satin black paint but it looks a little too shiny.  Were these originally in flat black?

I don't have anything original to go by. Car was originally an Esprit which was a bright finish.

I ended up respraying in "ultra-matte" and it looks much better. Didn't want to go with pure flat since that traps dirt easily. I learned from this that matte is supposed to be the "washable flat".
Hard to see the black in this photo but gives me a chance to show off the front.  :D

Great looking 73 Gene!
What brand of ultra-matte paint, was it a rattle can paint?
