My small 2 car
« on: April 20, 2021, 07:55:09 PM »
I know some members have done more with less but over the past 6-8 months or so I’ve been able to make my garage a bit more functional and it’s made a huge difference.. I don’t have a good “before” pic but my 460 sq ft garage got some additions recently. I reorganized my cabinets (which were hand-me-downs) and since I renovated my kitchen I managed to save some of my cabinets and counter to put in the garage. It’s nothing fancy but it made a huge difference in the function of the garage.

I also hate rolling up cords and hoses so keen eyes will note my overhead air hose reel along with a 40’ 12/3 extension cord reel. Again, nothing fancy but I love them both. I use them constantly and don’t have to roll anything up! The only extension cord reel is easily detachable from its mount  too which I liked.

Someday I’d like to insulate, fix my cracked and uneven floor and even extend it.

Tell me something...how do you keep so organized?

I think the space is great...out of the weather, smooth floor to work on, a bench.

My small garage at my house doesn't have that functionality yet as it's more like a big giant shed right now

Thanks for the inspiration OP....I to have a "Giant Storage Shed", but I'm renting a storage container, giving up half of the driveway to put it on and then moving everything out, doing the renovation, and hopefully it will actually have a car in it again, and never be a storage shed again.

I think the organized part come from necessity given the limited room I have to work. It does get messy sometimes but I clean up quickly cause if I don’t I run out of room too fast lol.

That would be awesome. I hope to someday extend mine enough to create a separate space for my trans am and “workshop” area and leave the “old” section of the garage solely for my wife’s vehicle and my truck (which currently sits outside)

I don't get it either, but nice job and a 2 car garage is a luxury around my area... I have a single car garage that barely fits one car, I'm not sure how these houses were build in the 50s with such a small garage.

Very nice.  Glad you gave us a peek.  Now the lingerie store has a front window...for those that didn't get it.

OH yeah, that looks awesome!!!!

I was just commenting to my wife this morning that I need to do something different in next few years so that I have a place to put Ruby when I get her on the road again!

Thanks for sharing; looks nice.  When you don't have a lot of space, you need to examine every area and make sure it is optimized efficiently.  If you have a shed, you can off load items there as well.

I do have a shed thankfully so my lawn mower stays there along with some other garden tools and several boxes of T/A parts and a set of Rally II rims/tires and 7” snowflakes.

I need a shed for the exact same reason and then maybe I'd have have more room in my garage to work on things!
