Getting back to the original question, the underhood wiring is certainly aged and heat affected, and so new would certainly look better and I think worth it on a restored car. That stuff in the picture comes apart into two sections, the engine section and the "front light" section. You might decide you only want to do part of it to save $200. The engine part takes more of a beating usually.
