Introduction - 73 Formula in Indy
« on: March 06, 2021, 09:48:13 AM »
I believe that I need a few posts before pictures and other functions work?  If so I figured an introduction would be good to make that happen

Picked up a '73 Formula 400 w/ TH400 last year.  Technically its my wifes car, but I get mechanics privilege's ;)  Heres a walkaround of the car as it sat before winter

Car was in great shape overall with very little body rust.  Painted GTO Judge Orange a couple POs back.

- New Brake Lines, Master Cylinder, Booster, Drums/Pads, E-Brake Cable
- Bilstein Shocks replaced what seemed to be original junkers
- New Water Pump
- Rebuilt Quadrajet
- Fixed Dash Wiring, New OER Tach, cigarette lighter, Retro Classic Stereo/mp3 player
- New rear axle bearings/seals
- Painted water pump housing and intake manifold
- Lots of other little things

Will post pictures when forum allows....Think I need more posts

Current 2021 Work...

- YearOne 17x9 Rally Wheels w/ Nitto 555g2 255-50R/17 Tires
- New Wiper Motor/Pump to correct wiper parking issue

https://youtu.be/JHW3G5cz_y4

Ordered parts and in-process of installing

- Pro-Touring FB Rear Suspension Kit along with full steering kit (Center Link, Inner/Outer Tie Rods and connectors, etc)
- Hotchkiss Springs in Front
- Borgeson 800 Steering Box w/ new Rag Joint

Once installed I'll tune ride height with spacers as needed.  Discussed with Dave over at PTFB and he thought this setup will work ok without any fitment issues.  But only way to know for sure is to install and check.

Cheers, Joe

Welcome!  Nice acquisition!

Also there's no internal image hosting function to this site, so that's why.  You'll have to host on Flickr etc... then embed it here.

Cool Thanks for that clarification...I know some sites require 5 or more posts...so thats what I was thinking.  I have TapaTalk...I'll see if the form works there.

Welcome to TAC, nice 73 Formula. Not easy to find one so original and in nice shape. As Jack mentioned, I like early gen II’s also, but they are pricey and hard to come by. Looking forward to seeing more on your car.
