We try to be observant with where products are made when we make purchases in our home. I try to avoid China made at all costs.
Still waiting on Pypes   Had a couple of nice weekends and ended up doing home chores, gardening etc. I was moving along pretty good with the car until I hit the latest roadblock. Kinda takes the wind out of my sails and I lose motivation.

I was hoping to see more progress but this reminded me of my tail pipes, I have splitters on my 71 which I have on early cars, I bought straight pipes that I should have replaced while the car is at the shop.

Me too Jack. I was really hoping to have this thing on the road this past spring. I feel like I am so close yet so far. It will almost be a year that I have had my motor back. I was moving along pretty good until the hiccup with the pipes and I am still waiting. Its stinking hot now. By the time I get home from work and take a shower I dont fell like going back into the shop and getting dirty and sweaty again. So I end up sitting around, reading or watching tv completely bored for hours on end. And I keep thinking if I could only get some motivation to get in the shop I could get this thing finished.

Yeah this weather has been miserable.  Not sure where you are but here in NE ohio it's the humidity also thats kicking our butts.  I put my papssenger seat in the other day and I looked like I had ran a marathon I was so sweaty.

North Eastern MD. Right at the top of the Ches Bay. we def get our share of humidity. I am in the category of people when the weather gets really bad for 'those with respiratory problems'. We changed our hrs and I have been working 6 - 2 pm. or less if we finish up early. I am usually soaked after being at work for about 5 minutes. Unfortunately we have all outside work right now, so little relief. I can deal with cold, but not the heat!

Kerry, summer has just begun and it looks like it’s going to be a brutal one. Yesterday I watched as my next door neighbor had windows installed, the guys looked wilted and wiped out by days end. This last week several neighbors were getting new roofs installed. High temperatures and humidity is a double whammy. I can’t imagine more demanding working conditions. My dad suffered for years with COPD, this kind of weather was very tough on him. Hopefully your clients can show some empathy when it comes to making deadlines and you can make your health a top priority.

On your TATA, I know your patience has been tested with parts availability and slow delivery times. You have come a long way and overcome a lot of challenges with this project. Hang in there!

We finally just got a break here in NE Ohio. Was waaaay too hot to drive a car without AC. Guess I forget that in the 70s not many cars had ac.

New problem has popped up! I am tired of waiting on pypes so I figure I would get the last couple of items buttoned up in the engine bay and start to put the sheet metal on, maybe having a car that looks like a car will be enough motivation to get it on the road. Lo and behold stepped out to the shop and there is coolant on the floor again :o :( :x
My first thought was that it was coming out low and the water pump cover was leaking, but then I found there is a leak at the stat housing again. Very frustrating as it has sat for a couple of months now with no problems at all, now this!!!!! I ordered a new front end gasket kit as well as a new gasket for the stat housing. Picked them up last night, maybe this afternoon I will get a chance to swap out the simplest thing, the stat gasket and hope that is what was causing the problem. If thats not it then Im afraid I will  have to start tearing things apart. Not what I was expecting or looking forward to.

Have I said before that this car is really testing my patience

Do you have to use the gasket?  I thought the manual stated not to use a gasket.  Correct me if I'm wrong.
