Ls swap headers interchange

So I've heard that the late model fbody headers will fit with massaging on the DS, has anyone tried gbody headers? I've also read that some are cutting the flanges off bbc headers and welding on ls headers. I'm looking at doing mid length headers because I don't want the collectors superlow because the car will be lowered. I am not looking to spend a ridiculous amount on headers. What has everyone experienced so far?    Not sure of header fitment issues yet but the plan on going with a 4l80e. Thanks in advance.

Keep in mind, there are two different manifolds for F-Body LS1.  The versions are 98-99 and 00-02 if I recall.  I might be regurgitating Internet facts, but earlier models are supposed to fit better.

I’m actually thinking about doing the Trailblazer V8 manifolds myself...hopefully they fit.

Before you start to look at headers, I would first ask what engine mounts you are using. The engine mounts will make or break the fitment of your headers or manifolds. If I were you, I'd suggest looking at the Speed Engineering headers made for 70-81 Fbody cars. They are right in the neighborhood of $300, stainless steel and have large 1 7/8" primary tubes. Amazing bargain there.

Dirty Dingo is popular.  Most people on the LSX Facebook page use/recommend the Holley mounts.
