Convert 1st design Hurst Hatches to 2nd? What parts would it take?
« on: September 15, 2020, 08:14:54 PM »
I'm still likely just going to replace my non-original 1st design Hurst Hatch roof with a whole hard-top roof, but I saw something recently that made me wonder if there might be other options.

Restore-A-Muscle Car is reproducing the inner trim for the second-design Hurst Hatches out of ANS plastic using a 3-D printer (they are experimenting with a few 3-D printed parts, including double-din radio bezels - some interesting stuff).

It got me wondering whether a first design Hurst Hatch can be modified to be a 2nd design Hurst Hatch, and if so, what would you need beyond the inner trim pieces and the 2nd design weatherstripping kit?

Not sure but you could swap a Fisher roof on.
79 Trans am low buck LS swapped
79 Formula 301 (Work in progress)
67 RS Camaro (This one is next)

Names, Luke. If I hear anyone telling me they're my father....

If I swap the roof, it will be to make it a hard top. I don't really like T-roofs on Trans Ams, but in case I have to live with this one for a while, I'm wondering if it could be made more tolerable.
