« on: August 13, 2020, 04:36:49 PM »
I have 2000 trans am ram air and I have play on both rear wheels when I push and pull them straight out but nothing when I try to move with one hand on top and bottom. I have it on both wheels would it be possible for both bearings to be gone. Any help will be greatly appreciated

How much play????.....Do you have "Noise"....Whine/Thump/Grinding????....Does it come with Accel, and leave with Decel????....Are you familiar with the 4th gen rear end assembly????

Seems normal as long as there is no noises. The movement is from the axle sliding in the splined section of the diff. When you push and pull like that it causes the c-clip to hit its stop and the able to hit the cross pin.

Check the ujoints on the drive shaft. Make sure there is no play in them.

If that's the case; then disregard my last. Could be u joints like y88 ta says. Could also be the torque arm bushing on the trans worn out.
