That Gremlin not only beat me but he was only using one kit, he has two. He can put it on the bumper. The race was for the fun of it.

P.S. I only run one kit and most people think I'm running a 400 shot when I'm not. It runs pretty good on motor so I don't need anywhere close to that big of a shot.

He said it's a big small block. It's stroked but it isn't as big as my 461.

Doesn't need to; those Gremlins weigh next to nothing and the 401 is a darn good motor stock - on spray? look out!

Exactly, he's lighter and he was pushing more spray than me. I was on a 175 shot and he was on a 190. It was a good race but I had to let out of it when the car started getting lose on the top.

I can toss a 250 shot in but the odds of hooking on the street are slim, I've got a progressive controller that might work but I've never used it. My other option is to build a 495. I've got the rotating assembly sitting here and another block I just have to get around to doing it.

if you build a 495 are you going to spray that too?

Even with the 495 I'd still spray. If the car doesn't launch hard out of the hole I might not be able to catch a turbo car.

im sorry, i just realized that you said youre on a 175 shot without a progressive controller. Never got on the giggle juice myself but I thought that was a fair amount to spray with no controller?
New to the forum, dont know a lot about your car but are you on EFI now or just been playin with carbs and nitrous long enough that you have no worries spraying that much?

I'm a younger guy and who did autocross & track days most of my 'racing life.' Personal skill, tires and basic suspension were more important than anything else.
After getting in one of the first properly fast cars in my life, I want something actually quick; hence my current project. Hope you dont mind the questions

I run a carb with a forged lower end and h-beam rods. You can still melt a forged piston if your fuel system can't keep up. There's a magnafuel prostar 500 in my trunk with a fuel cell and I use the stock tank to add weight if I need it. It's also a mind game when they think you're still running off the stock tank so I like to leave it there. The biggest difference for traction on the street is when I added the glass nose, you need the weight transfer and the glass nose took a ton of weight off the front of the car.

If you could see the Gremlin in the daytime all he has for a nose is a set of headlights, everything else is gone and he really can stand it on the rear bumper if he wants to.

My only experience with power adders is a turbo on my daily commuter. I blew a coolant hose in 3rd or 4th gear at 5k rpm/10lbs on the highway. Car overheated so bad that rings touched and cracked 3/4 of my pistons ringlands. Replacement motor I just gapped the ends to .030" and forgot about it.
I ended up losing water again a few months later and this time the motor was fine lol

cool stuff, be fun to see you post any of your future races

That particular race was cool because a lot of the people that were there didn't expect it to pull the front tires, I knew it would but they didn't. If I get any more I'll post them up.

I used to live in Tucson, I would've made the drive for fun if I was still there. I'm on the east coast now, can't say I'll ever show up now lol

Adding a second kit just in case that Gremlin wants to run for cash next time.

Ready to rock. First kit is on a WOT switch and the second is on a button.

The car wouldn't hook on anything over a 175 shot. Now I can leave on that and throw another 100 at it when I hit second.
