Were under dash courtesy lights optional in 78

Haven’t had my 78 bird long   My first 77 back in the day had lights under dash but this 78 doesn’t yet I’ve see pictures of them all n 79 to 81 cars.

They sure are, they were a pay-extra option that wasn't really that expensive, but came with a mercury switch operated trunk light as well as a light in the glove box (that was part of the same harness as the footwell courtesy lights). If the car also had a power trunk release, it had a different light harness to one that just had interior lights. In '78, it would have been coded Y92 Lamp Group
