2014 manual trans
« on: April 05, 2020, 05:18:49 PM »
I have a guy locally selling a transmission from a 2014 ss camaro or so he says. Its 1000 dollars which doesn't seem too bad. Will this fit in my 80 firebird if i go and buy a junkyard 6.0 liter from a truck?

I saw your post on LS1tech. So the answer is yes it will work because the 14 SS came with an LS3. The long answer is that you'll either need to convert to a T56 Magnum tail shaft, or get one of the solid mount tailshaft shifter adapters. I think Hawks makes one. Then there is the driveshaft to deal with if you run it as is. Camaro runs a fixed yoke, so you'll need a new driveshaft that has a slip in the middle.

That said, I'd jump on it for $1k since they normally sell for around $2k.
