Steering column lower bearing difference .
« on: March 24, 2020, 11:24:22 AM »
Was wondering if anyone used the so called jeep bearing over others . This looks to be a very good quality bearing with no play and its only $18.00 on Amazon . The video shows for a 1970 but from what i see there is no difference for second gen birds . I am not looking to save a buck just want to do the job once .

I just got an Omix-Ada to redo mine, John Woods is a Customer or mine, he's the one that did the video.

I used this bearing during my steering column rebuild and have no issues with it, although technically my car is not on the road yet.  I purchased through Summit but it's the same product and around the same price as Amazon currently. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/omx-1801903

I wouldn't hesitate to purchase it through Amazon Prime although I've heard that "non-essential" item orders are taking a lower priority through Amazon right now, so who knows when it would arrive.

Part showed up today very impressed with Packaging .Bearing looks as described in video very nice . I wish I wasn't one of those essential workers I might even tackle this today. I am thinking about trying it with the column in the car. if I am able to do that I will do some step by step pictures.
