69 convertible cocktail fluid addition
« on: January 28, 2020, 12:59:14 PM »
Hi guys. The cocktail shakers on my 69 convertible got tipped and fluid leaked out. Does anyone know how to add atf back in and also how much should be in there?
Thanks,

Joe

I thought they were sealed.  sold my vert a long time ago.  Was there a rust hole or a vent hole?

I have a 67 Camaro conv. and bumped the fill screw on one of my extra ones when it tipped over and it caused a leak. They're almost full but not quite IIRC so the fluid can deaden the chassis harmonic vibration. If they're filled completely I don't think they'll work as well.

I haven't looked at it yet, my son has been working on the car and told me about it. He said there was a fill screw on top and that's where it leaked out of. I guess I'll have to check it out myself. Thanks guys, sounds like if there is a plug I can just fill it almost to the top there.

Thanks. I looked into the two front ones a couple weeks ago and there is hardly anything in them. What is in there doesn't look like tranny fluid though. I think, if the car ever gets done that is, I will dump out what is in there and fill with tranny fluid.

Yeah, good idea. They need to be there to prevent harmonic vibration.
