So most of the car is all primer'd up, I'm teleworking today with nothing to really do. Plan is to at least sand the rest of the car if not primer everything not primered. My nose will probably be sanded and primer'd last.

Anywho, here are the pics!

Also, how could I forget the 3rd gen! This is all I have at the moment, trust me the interior got some love as well. Better center console, slightly nicer dash, 4th gen seats and new carpet. She's come a long way since it was pulled out of some guys yard in the middle of nowhere. The paint was faded and the previous owner rattle canned a bunch of primer on one side for no reason, oh before I forget, there was mold EVERYWHERE. For what it was/is, its really a great car!

It sure does. I’d love to have a 305 5 speed one day but I’m confident my wife will disagree lol

well, i sprayed the whole body with primer. the primer was fighting me the whole time not shooting out flat. I'm not sure what the issue was with that today, but it leveled out ok but we'll see how well it sticks when i take some paper to it to knock down the excessive runs.

none of my other panels came out that way, im super disappointed by it. oh well, such is life.

couldnt get the last big panel and other small bits as I ran out of material. quick run tomorrow and if the primer sticks well, we're in business! Paint coming soon!

Depends if the 76 was built in 75 and the 78 was built in 77. Anyone else would call it exactly what it was than insist a new model each year that was never ready or needed.

That third gen car came out nice, I think the '85 T/A (before the light on the back window) is one of the nicest looking trans am's made. Its a shame they dont get the love they deserve. I'm far from being a paint expert, but if I recall correctly, are you not in VA beach? The humidity may have something to do with your problems. I am at the top of the bay and the levels around here lately have been unbearable.

I'm in Newport News specifically, humidity was pretty bad lately. I took a few days off since I wasn't sleeping right. Goal is to finish all primer and bondo today (did some bondo on the car, I lied about trading the WHOLE time off)

Could the humidity be bad enough to cause me problems? If so I've got problems for the rest of summer...

I assume California bay area?

Chesapeake Bay. Again, not an expert but I think the humidity does affect the painting process if its not controlled. Primer maybe not so much as it will be sanded anyway, but personally I would not want to spray final paint or clear coat with high humidity. As bad as the humidity is where I am, the tidewater region is even worse!!

Ah, well, shoot, I'll have to start collecting parts for the LS swap then. Don't wanna ruin paint because of the humidity.

By chance, did you contact me on Facebook?

Well, welcome back!  Sounds like you keep busy.

Thanks! I sure do

I did not. I have an account but rarely use it. Probably been 3 months since last time I was on there.

there was another guy in your area trying to trade parts with me, which I'm fine with but he wanted to trade labor for parts as well which I wasn't as fine with. These older cars usually have everything pretty accessible so I turned that down without trying to put him off.

I'm banned on facebook right now so I cant update what I've sold or post more reasonable prices I've since learned.

It'd be neat to meet the locals eventually

occasionally I'll join purposely toxic pages that are more or less known/meant for trash talking.

facebook has rolled out a feature that no longer requires someone to report what you said to ban you, I've had a couple run ins with said filter and facebook zucc'd me

it's annoying because half of the time im talking trash to my own friends and ill get banned lmao

this is the fourth time this year Im on a one week ban, as long as messages continues to work.... I'm really not that upset, its facebook? I'm not a clout chaser nor do I live my life on social media. Its really taken a pretty far back seat in my life if im honest. Its mostly something to scroll thru when im on the toilet.

I finally made the step to part out the parts car. I doubt I'll need any of the parts off of it that I dont already have or have plans for.

paint will take a back seat until this humidity gets under control, next paycheck I plan to start collecting swap parts. Motor mounts will be the first thing and whenever I get to the junk yard, I'll pick up a 5.3 truck motor. Once that fires and runs, I plan on going through the trans/drive train, then brakes/steering and she should be driveable. Hopefully by then the humidity would have subsided and I can put my base coats down.
The only major hurdle I have is a financial one, I recently ate a  couple pretty big bills. We'll see if the checkbook is okay with another 4k worth of expenses to get the car running... Part out stuff may play a part in that as well.
