79 TA - How to Test a Pulse Wiper Motor
« on: November 12, 2019, 05:42:19 PM »
Hey All,
I have a 79 TA with a not working pulse wiper motor. With the wiring and motor being original I’d like to test the motor with a battery. How do you test them with a battery and where does the battery hook up to? I’ve read about numerous people doing it, I’m just not sure how. Thanks!

Also, if anyone has an original working wiper motor they want to sell, let me know!

I've tested a few pulse wiper motors before. I installed them on the car, with the battery installed in the car so there's power. Then just turn on the key and operate the switch. They'd either work or not. As long as your car has the original wiring in position, that should work.

I think all the motors worked as far as the wipers functioning. I think none of them worked for the washer function. But that part can be replaced. Sometimes the switch isn't perfect and doesn't work well as far as the delay function, but would usually at least turn the motor on and off.
