Your current car pictures
« on: September 05, 2019, 08:20:01 AM »
I know many folks view this forum but seldom post and I thought it might be a good idea to start a thread similar to "show your stance" but with pictures of you car and/or project car in their current state in hopes to see some cars we haven't seen or haven't seen in a while. It just seems there are the same few that post and update their threads and I personally enjoy seeing other folks cars and projects in any condition.

Here is my 1979 Formula.  The first picture is when I got her back in 2008. Floors were gone roof was gone (big holes I filled with bondo to stop it from leaking so bad)

Here it is today in the barn on hold as I work on my 79 T/A. Replaced the roof, both quarters, doors, fenders and floor.

This is my 1979 Trans Am. 301 auto car I bought back in high school. Circa 1995

Today. LS1/4L60e swap. Some new floor pans, quarter patches, new doors and fenders and half painted.

Hopefully this will persuade others to post up some pictures, info and possibly stories about your current cars and projects.

Good idea, it gives me a reason to take pics of the cars... and maybe drive them.

Glad to see you're making moves.

My '98 since I got it this weekend.

My '79 earlier this year.  This project will take a back seat to the '98 while I get that car back to normal driving condition.

Ooooo, the forum doesn’t even know about the latest with my ‘79

I bought an LS1 to build for it and took it to to a machine shop.  Paid them $5,000 cash to machine,
assemble and run the engine on a dyno.  After some discussion, the owner of the shop got pissed off at me, told me he’s going to machine the engine and leave everything in my hands.  I immediately decided to get my engine out of the shop and told them to give me my money back.  He instead bought rods, pistons and bearing then shoved me with a $2200 cleaning and “spec’ing” bill.  Not one thing was machined, assembled or obviously not ran.

Long story short...from my $5,000, I got back my parts and a set of rods/pistons and $1100.  Got ripped off by that guy.  To be light with my words, that owner is an absolute piece of garbage.  Big slap in the face was ordering the pistons/rods after I decided to take my engine out the shop and then deciding to add $85+tax to my bill.

1979 Firebird Esprit with T-Tops, 301 automatic, tilt steering column, rear spoiler option and had all the fender trim and rocker trim pieces with virtually no rust on her (odd for Northern Ontario)...gave away all the trim pieces like a big dummy, gave away the rust free fenders like a big dummy and to top it all off, I completely stripped it apart at the wise old age of 21 or 22 years old because I was going to restore it with no money and no permanent full time job!!!!!!   :-x :?

I have pictures of this calamity and will update shortly

She has been named the "Project"

UPDATE:

Hours before It was ripped apart, and the only and last time I drove the car..........................illegally    :)

See, these are the types of pictures and cars I was hoping to see. That Formula is pretty neat, 77, 78?

The esprit with T tops and a spoiler, now that's cool!

Rear spoilers are a must for a Trans Am, but I really like the look of the firebird without.

Me not so much...I would put one on any Firebird I had that came without one...this is not a problem for me as I'm not so sure I can convince the wife that we need another TA in our fleet!!

I have just as much love for base birds, esprits and formys but I agree, these cars just look goofy to me without a spoiler.

It's a '77, matching, mostly all stock.
I have just removed the spoiler when it was repainted in 1997 because I do not like spoilers on Firebirds  and add TA vents in the front fenders.

Current yesterday.  First show since august. My poor car had about 3 inches of dust on it and was dead. I figured the alternator was bad, so I had to replace that and a new battery and the car runs great! I did a quick wash and took the leaf blower to it for a quick dry and I was surprised at how nice it looked (from 10 feet LOL)

I assume they had a firebird class at Keenland, would've liked to have seen that. I had motorcycles in that show a few years ago, beautiful town and a great show.
BTW, both beautiful cars!!! Is that the winners circle at Grosse Pointe?

Yes, They had a Trans Am class at Keeneland. It consisted of a 69 T/A, 76 LE, 10,15, 20, 25, 30th Anniversaries, and the CETA. Carl Alger did a great job putting that class together.
Yes, that is the Winner's Circle at the EyesOn Design. It is held at the former Edsel and Eleanor Ford estate. I received a "Best of Class" award.
Sadly, I didn't get anywhere near the Winner's Circle at Keeneland!! And thank you for the compliment.

Seeing your 10th makes me wish I held on to mine. I had to let one go way back when and chose that one. It was 97% done and always got complimented. Hope it's still being kept nice.
