Holley Sniper Quadrajet
« on: June 01, 2019, 11:15:24 AM »
Just got my 1979 Trans Am back from the shop that installed the Holley Sniper Quadrajet system on it.  I bought and had them install the complete kit from Holley including the Sniper Quadrajet, fuel tank, and in tank fuel pump.  My car is a Olds 403 car.  The car runs great, but the installer was not able to connect the factory cruise control to the system.  Has anybody else found a way to retain their factory cruise control with these efi systems or if not are there any aftermarket cruise control kits that I could use with it?

I have a terminator system and that has provisions for Cruise in the program.  I don't know if the sniper kit has that provision or if it's a mechanical issue keeping you from having cruise.

I don't have the answer for you, but perhaps you can post something on Holley's EFI Facebook page to get your answer.  I believe they have Holley techs monitoring it.

Got mine back today , same issue, no cruise. Hopefully someone finds the solution.Called my mechanic he is researching. I`ll report back if he finds something. Love the EFI though , starts like a new car, drove it home 20 miles in 90+ heat , shut it off waited 2 minutes fired right back up.

These systems sound so good......years ago, I had a 70 Camaro running early TPI with an aftermarket computer.....what an amazing car for response, performance and economy (considering the sort of car it was, lol).

I have the 2004R trans and it was a pretty simple hook up. Pick up has been great with the EFI. It might be the best two upgrades you can do with the EFI and OD trans , my car is simply more reliable starting now and cruising at 70 MPH @16-1700 RPM vs 3200 is amazing difference, the engine no longer feels like it is screaming at you for another gear.

Holley makes a Dual Sync for an Olds, shouldn't that work with the Sniper EFI?

I would call Holley direct, they have several different distributors available. I am still using my stock distributor. As for my rear end gears I have 3.08.
