Cigarette lighter question
« on: November 10, 2018, 12:08:13 AM »
Hi - I’ve got a 77 TA that has a dead cigarette lighter housing.

Does the 77 come with a pin or blade type housing?

Does replacing the housing normally resolve the lack of power issue - or anything else I should look to get?  Thanks

77 had the pin type but not sure when the change over was, mid-78 had the spade.
Have you checked you even have power at that point? Otherwise it won't change anything.

Thanks - no I haven’t had a chance to disassemble the dash bezel yet.  Definitely will make sure to check for power first.

Here's the different plug types between the 77 and 78 changeover.

You may already know this and have checked but the lighter is fused with the courtesy lamps if you have them. I thought my fuse was good but ended up being just a fuse and both the lamps and lighter started working again.

Thanks - I don’t think I have the courtesy lamps.  Do you know which fuse goes to the lighter?

It says “CLK LTR” there are 4 large fuses on the left side of the fuse box. It’s the second from the bottom. Not including the tiny little one at the bottom.
