Hey guys and gals the name is bill picked up my TA on my 21st birthday this past April. It was a turbo 301 car but I bought it as a roller and I’m now stuffing a 455 olds with some big valve c heads I picked up from Brad Wise in Asheville NC and I’m looking for some parts for cheap and looking for input....I’m putting a 400 trans in there and I’ve read I can take the 350 crossmember cut the tab off weld it to the back and use a universal mount from energy suspension and then I just have the issue of being able to remove the pan is this correct I’m going to college newt engaged and making small money and I’m trying to do everything on a budget yea I know good luck right haha

I am also happy to see someone your age have interest in these cars.

I'm no help with your crossmember question but I'm sure someone is.

And as Mumbles mentioned...we like pictuers and updates to follow along with.

Welcome to TAC Black BAndit! I wish I had some answers but I don't. What color is the interior? Does it need much in the way of body work? What made you pursue a T/A?

I started building my first car when I was 16 it was a 79 omega x body platform I loved that car ended up selling it at 18 fast forward to about last adecember I wanted something old again to tinker with was scrolling through Facebook market place and found a trans am roller for 1200 I had 1000 and I talked the guy down and brought it home in April it’s been sitting since I thought I nabbed a good one i thought it was a y84 but upon further decoding found out it was just a normal black and gold turbo trans am with fisher tops the only thing special about it was it had the deluxe interior haha

Welcome.  Good luck with the project.

I dunno about your x-member mods... seems like I've read something about just turning the mount around, but not at all sure.  Maybe posting in "mechanical" will get a better response.
