#Y88-R at Barber Motorsport Park
« on: August 07, 2018, 06:58:38 AM »
We traveled to AL last weekend for the Optima event at Barber and I have to say that is a very nice facility!  WOW!  It's like going to a beautiful botanical garden and racing inside!  Very nice.  The Autocross course was set up in there "proving ground" area which has a high bank turn.  This weekend brought out all the heavy hitters in this series so there were a lot of really nice cars there.  We experienced problems with the carb, a Qjet, all weekend long and had other failures in addition to that.  We worked hard to keep it racing all weekend  and scored pretty well considering we only had about 70% of our power.

Here are some of the cars at the event.  This is a line for the Powerstop Speed stop challenge segment.

Looks great! shame your car wasn't 100% but sounds like you had a good time. Ive never been but my brother has raced motorcycles there numerous times. He speaks highly of the place. I'm gonna make there with him one of these days.

Looks like you had a great day for weather! Barber is on my list of tracks I'd like to run at.

I was thinking we would get a break from the awful heat in TX because the temps were forcasted to be in the low 90's.  Well, I didn't feel any different to me from the 109 we've been having in TX.

Was there a few years ago, they were adding on to the museum. A must see! You name it, they have it.
