Drive Shaft Removal
« on: July 11, 2018, 10:01:54 PM »
In an effort to gain access to my drive gear, I need to get my extension housing off of the trans.  In order to do that, I need to take my drive shaft off.i have taken the 4 bolts out of the rear u joint and thought that it would slide slightly forward and come apart.  I have pulled hard on a pry bar, and the thing will not come apart.  Is there a step I am missing?

You've got it right, sometimes those things can get stuck pretty tight. Tapping with a hammer sometimes helps loosen it.
