Car cover/paint protection
« on: June 10, 2018, 09:36:30 AM »
I was looking for the best method to protect a newly sanded polished and waxed car from dust, dirt etc. Car will be parked inside a garage on a lift when not driven. Car covers, home made ideas etc.
I work in the garage as well.
Pictures if possible.

I offer my 2c every time the car cover question comes up. I have a middle of the road cover from Cal Car Cover. It wasn't cheap, I think it was around $250 or so, but it is a fitted cover. It is high quality and I highly recommend their products. My car stays parked in the garage, but with a woodworking shop attached to my garage it does get its share of dust.

If you park where air movement isn't an issue, I've found tyvek car covers are fine....light, relatively cheap and they keep the dust at bay.
Friend of mine uses a california car cover...multi layer, cut to fit.....its a lovely piece of gear, but I can't see it does any better if there was a wind blowing, his cover would be far better.....a flapping cover is bound to erode the paint on the corners.

A few old King size comforters and a Budge #4 from PepBoys works.
