no backup lights - switch connections?
« on: May 15, 2018, 01:10:12 PM »
I have a 1980 with automatic w/shifter on the floor.
The switch on the column has 2 sets of contacts but on has 1 set being used.  The set on the right is not being used.  The set that is being used has a blue and green wire (I believe this is the neutral switch.  I've looked but can't seem to locate another connector loose under the dash.
Need help locating the backup light connector.
thanks

Success, got backup lights.
Pulled connector from switch on column (under dash) and jumper the the connections, lights worked.  I then loosened the switch, turned key on and placed shifter in reverse.  I then moved switch until backup lights came on.
I'm lucky the back drive was all still in place.
thanks
Bob
