1989 GTA
« on: March 13, 2018, 08:24:33 PM »
A friend of mine has a 1989 GTA that is black with t-tops, and has the L98 motor.  He’s been told it’s pretty rare.  Does anybody know much about these?

Thanks,
Mark

Thanks for sharing that.

Looking through that, I’d guess that my friend’s combination would not be considered that rare.

I think the only rare and valuable 1989's are the Turbo V6 cars

I'm not sure you should consider a turbo pace car rare, but they certainly are valuable. A run of the mill early 3rd gen in great condition is probably the rarest out there. They made a lot of them, but I doubt many are left at this point. Doesn't translate to value though. I would bet most of the turbos are still intact. I am a big fan of the 3rd's but don't see any rising value in the near future. The GTA's in #2 condition are starting to get up there, I have seen them listed for 16k plus.
