Door jam sticker
« on: January 13, 2018, 12:39:08 PM »
I was wanting to put the door jam (compliance) sticker back on my 1976 TA. I have seen white stickers on 76 cars at the Nats but when I ordered one from Firebird Central they sent me a blue sticker. I really want to do the right one. Any advise ??

Ames has door jamb stickers that are pretty nice. They are not cheap though.

Do you mean the one with tyre pressures, weights and VIN etc? It was white with clear windows oonto body paint below it.

These are what I had made for my 79. Although I don't know if this style is correct for your 76, I'm sure this company knows what you need.

I must add that I have to provide a fair amount of information and documentation to get these made. They insist that the information on the labels be correct, not just appear so.

Ya, there is/was a great thread with a template to make these yourself. I was hoping someone was going to make one for there own 79 and I could pay them to make me a set as the only computer I have is my office one.

I had no idea a company out there did these complete rather than as blanks.  I will be looking into this for my '75.  Thanks!

There used to be a company/guy that also did them correctly with clear windows, not just colour matched patches.

The ones from Ames have clear panels, you need to fill in the info yourself. I did mine with the template that Pozar put up awhile ago. Then cut out the insert and put it under the new lable. What is shown is how they were on my 77.

I think the guy I used advertised on ebay about 10 years ago. Supply info and Vin etc and he filled them in. I got one or two stock and another with tyres matching my 17" 'stock' snowflakes which hadn't even arrived.

Thanks again for sharing this.  I ordered one for my '75.  $67 shipped, and fully filled out matching my original.  The guy I am working with is super knowledgeable and great to work with.  They also have date coded glass available, which was,on my want list.

They do look neat. The first one I had slipped and landed face down in the dust on the floor as I was applying it. After that I just had to convince myself of the originality of the grit behind it from useless production line boy!

I had to laugh because if you look at it right it says "Fuel Economy"- "None".
